@Isaacelric1129 They're the smartest ones. In reality, there ain't no "honor" to this and they realized it more than Avon did. That's why lasted and Avon didn't. Ain't no honor amongst thieves.

@shinsta123 Its like the scene from Hamlet, when Hamlet says to the King that a man can fish with the worm that eats the King's carcass, and can eat the fish that ate the worm; all to show him that the body of a King can sit in the entrails of a beggar...like The ring came from (in the Wire) from the King's Servant (Andre) to the King (Marlo) to Omar, Officer Walker to Michael...all to show that no matter the differences, something still stays the same throughout.
"Omar ain't no terrorist, ...he jus another nigga wit a gun. And you ain't no Delta Airlines neither. You jus a nigga got cha shit took. So bring me what ch-you owe
and talk that global economy mess some where else. Feel Me....." -Marlo Stanfeld

I can see where you're coming from but I don't think it is insecurity so much as he is who he is and he knows what he knows. Andre made himself look stupid and desperate with his chatter and it was out of place. Marlo gave him a hand in remembering where he was.
Marlo was no punk, an asshole sure but no punk.
When all was said and done Marlo was the king. You don't have to like the king, but he's still the king.
