You are confusing the country of America with "the Americas," a term used to describe North and South America (plus Central, for those who insist upon it). There are not 35 countries in America nor even the continent of North America. Are we clear now?

37% of Americans is about 370 million people since there are 35 countries and 1 billion people in America. I think the girl means Citizens of the US.

@hafsteinssoningi keep telling yourself that and look it up... America is the entire continent. The US is small part of it. The US is only 1/3 part of even smaller North America. Grab a Atlas and you shall see that USA is 1 of 35 different countries that make up the continent of America.
