I could not find a good tutorial on how to do this, so I filmed mine with a GoPro Hero as a reference. This is in a 1996 Honda Accord 4 door 4 cylinder automatic. I am not a tech, mechanic, or anything of the sort, so you will probably see 19 things I did wrong, etc. I am not claiming to be any kind of authority on the matter, just a guy that would have benefited from having something like this prior to doing the R and R.

I should also mention that I mistakenly purchased airbags for a 1995, and the plugs are different. It may be as simple as clipping the old wire and splicing the new plug, however with my limited knowledge I didn't want to take the chance. I am selling a pair with module for only $300 if anyone is interested.

  • I gotta 98 honda civic. So pretty much everything you did is what I have to do. What was the total cost for these parts? both airbags and the module?

  • @mountpunchmore

I would expect to pay $200-$300 for everything.

  • i just replaced this on my acura CL

was very easy, just had a few torx bits on the drivers side one.

also, i DID manage to reset the srs light. i do so by following a video of a vehelix guy in a dif video, search "reset SRS light honda" and it'll show. or search your car make. he has a video for like every car in existence. srsly.

  • @thatsmybucket

Thanks for the information! That is awesome!

  • By replacing the airbags and module did the srs light come off automatically, or was there an additional step? Thanks!

  • @leandra914

It did not turn the SRS light off, and I have not attempted to get it off yet. I talked with a tech from the dealership and he said that even with the light on it *MAY* fire. If it *can* fire, it will. Don't take this as gospel, do your own research as I don't assume any responsibility ;)

    Thanks for the reply!

  • Excellent video. Thank you.

  • I have a 2001 Nissan Maxima which got into an accident and both passenger and driver side are deployed. The only thing I need is a driver and passenger airbags, and a module, correct?
