God bless South Park and Yves Montand. What an odd combination though. Lol. I'm obsessed with this song.

Si je n'avais pas regardé South Park, je suis sûr que je n'aurais pas aimé. Finalement, j'aime pas tant que ça la version entière. Il n'y a que le début qui est entrainant.

@clarko55 yeah that chase part was hilarious :D

I first heard this poem on the audio program for a French-learning course called "En bonne forme" (lit. "Fit" or "In good shape") published by Houghton-Mifflin Company, now part of Cengage Learning. It is included as the second text of "Chapitre 1" ("Chapter 1")

Such a happy song!
Now all I think when I hear it is a bunch of animated kids running from NAMBLA...

@BnkWrATMt1ts Thanks, that wasn't it though. They sounded exactly alike, just different voices. Or maybe it was just me.

@RennanizedRen The one you're looking for is by Les Freres Jacques.

Is it me, or was the version used in South Park sung by a different person? The guys in each version sound different to me.

Heh, South Park led me here too... Lol. Wish I could understand it, it's awesome.

I agree completely, phloid.
I don't know many of Prevert's works, but this one really touched my heart. And - with Montand's voice - was the icing on the cake to the poem.
