Even though I'm a Latter-day Saint, I live in Metro Detroit, which, for some reason (I don't know the history of it--I just find this fact interesting) has the largest Muslim population outside of the Middle East. Our governor said on Meet The Press that Imam Faisal Abdul Rauf was Sufi', so I knew right away where Freed was going. :-)

The more I see of Fareed the less impressed I am.

Feisal is a highly political figure who is on more than one national level group that is trying to influence US public policy, and he was a terrible spokesperson for this very dubious project.

The mission statement of the Cordoba Initiative was to create a tipping point in Muslim-US relation within ten years. He takes tax payer money, and says his friends will attack us if we don't do what he says.
