Don't give the marines all the credit and forget the sacrifices of the Navy and Army at Iwo Jima as well.

@faekurafi 235 years*, also the U.S. defeated Japan virtually alone.

There were som Men in those days.

@Spiritof1861 none of our business? The Japanese were taking over the entire pacific! They started the war anyway! You'd rather just sit by and let an evil regime such as the nazis take over the world?
-
Semper Fi! My dad set up the first beach evac unit on Iwo Jima. This always brings me to my knees.

Sadist, militant-like, and imperial? Sounds like Roosevelt to me. That war? None of our business, listening to the founders' advice. Ask our American WWII vets if they think what all they went through was worth it; I'll bet you'll get a resounding "no." That war did nothing to secure our heritage or our freedom, the fight was right here at home the whole time. Who are we to dictate to other countries what they can or cannot do? What would America's founding fathers do?

those stubourn son of a bitches killed so many good men... many still traped inside that hell of a mt. seribachi.. god bless the U.S Marine Corps

@sithmaster4305 I'd imagine that was because they've never seen any different than Germany. They liked what they saw here, so...yeah.

the ironic thing is fanitical nazis ended up cheering for democracy when they came to american in POW camps they actually, for the most part, were forced to leave but then they just came back, most of them,
Thank you American for saving the world from sadist militant like imperial Japan and Nazi Germany.
