Very old gramaphone song sung by an early pioneer of Sinhala music Devar Surya Sena. Devar born as Herbert Charles Jacob Pieris (Son of Sir James Peiris) later changed his name and devoted to pioneering the Sinhala music in the 1920s and 1930s along with the likes of Hubert Rajapaksha. Little written about this pioneer in the current electronic circle. A good note of him has been endorsed in late Dr. Tissa Abeysekara's book 'Ayale Giya Sithaka Satahan'.
The picture shows Surya Sena with my father during the programme 'Sandesya' recording back in the 1960s.
thiz was based on the hindi song " dheere sajana bangiarau main.. sung by Kumar Sachin Dev Burman ( S.D.Burman ) in 1934 for a columbia record.

Thanks Vidhura for the song. I hear this original for the 1st time. I can't remind the past. Only I know the other versions sang by Neel Warnakulasuriya in Sunflowers in early 90's.

Dear Priyantha,
Thanks for your comment. I am not sure about Neil Warnakulasooriya but I know Rookantha did a cover version sometime ago. I like the way Devar sings and the meaning of it.
