The digging begins to remove the buried 1957 Belvedere. June 15th is the day!

This is the start of the digging to free the car that had been buried for 50 years under the courthouse lawn.

"On June 15, 2007, a 1957 Plymouth Belvedere buried in Tulsa, Oklahoma during the 1957 Tulsarama! was freed from its concrete vault under the Tulsa Courthouse lawn."

  • there wasnt a guy in it! it was a time capsule.

  • I'd like to see what it looks like out of the hole and without a tarp.

I also wonder if any of the time capsule stuff inside the car was salvageable.

  • Well, whatever they did to preserve that Plymouth...it was not enough....

  • Yea, I guess. Putting it in bag is not very good way to store it. Why would these people do such a foolish thing??

  • This just seems so disrespectful to the guy who was buried in it.

Why go against his last wishes if he wanted to be buried in his car?

    I know, "progress", but still...

  • Of course, positioning the digger on top of the time capsule was a bit chancy! Lucky thing that concrete held. Many thanks, Crablogic, for being our eyes out there in Tulsa.

  • Just when I thought the videos were good, then I saw you still pics at tulsachevys dot com/Images/buriedcar they were even better. Keep up the good work.

  • What emotion and sadness! Poor Plymouth.. Great and appropriate music!
