As promised, a new music video for Pink Floyd, this time of the unreleased Syd Barrett composition, 'Scream Thy Last Scream'. 'Scream Thy Last Scream' was recorded by Pink Floyd sometime around late 1967 to early 1968, shortly before Barrett left the band in March '68. It features Nick Mason on lead vocals, and Syd Barrett singing the line, 'She'll be scrubbing bubbles on all fours'.
It is also claimed that Barrett is one of the sped up vocals in the background. The song was originally intended to appear on the band's second album release, 'A Saucerful Of Secrets', but the song was pulled from release due to the band feeling it was too personal, and that it referred to
Barrett's mental condition.
The footage in this video was ultilized from three sources, 'Corporal Clegg' - Belgium Promo, Feb. 1968, 'Apples And Oranges' - American Bandstand, Nov. 1967, and 'Syd Barrett: Crazy Diamond' - BBC One, 2001.
