Is that a 66 skylark ? Do you have any hood clearance issues? What motor mounts did you use? I'm working a 455 conversion on my 67 skylark

@bmonkey14 It is a 66 skylark. The hood clearance was an issue. I had to cut a hole in the hood and all that good stuff. TA performance sells solid motor mounts, that is what I did for my conversion. The mounts from TA performance work good but a couple of the bolts are hard to get in when the motor is in the car. Good luck to you

did you have to do anything to strenghten the bottom end? forged pistons or block girdle

@iusenitrous I have speed pro forged pistons. I sanded the casting seams on the stock rods. Installed a rev limiter. I bought a book on how to build buicks. It is critical to get your main and rod bearing clearance right. And fix the weak oil system on the cam bearings. And they will rev pretty good as far as big blocks go. They have girdles at TA performance but they are to much for my back yard mech budget.
