The Transkei—which means the area beyond the Kei River—is a region situated in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. It is also the name of an Apartheid-era Bantustan (1959--94) corresponding to this territory. The Transkei is bordered by the Umtamvuna River in the north and the Great Kei River in the south, while the Indian Ocean and the Drakensberg mountain range of the landlocked kingdom of Lesotho serve as the Transkei's eastern and western frontiers respectively. The main city is Mthatha, usually given as 'Umtata' on maps and in all English-language medium materials.

  • it was an independant homeland for black people belonging to the xhosa tribe. each tribe in south africa had their own state. the world would not recognise it. instead of trying to make homelands work, the ruling anc goverment of south africa held protests and made tried to make it ungovernable. as much their vault.

  • HORRIBLE & GAY. THIS IS THE SAME ANTHEM I'VE LISTENED WATCHING THE CISKEI ONE. IT'S UNBELIEVABLE: TWO NATIONS SHARING THE SAME SONG... THAT'S SHAMEFUL & PLENTY OF PIRACY. PLEASE GET A LIFE, DICKHEADS.

  • @Scriptorsilentum

The anthem of South Africa uses evil music? No wonder it's been fucked up ever since 1997.

  • This is music of great beauty, dignity - very moving. Im convinved the ANC did itslevel best to make the Republic of Transkei ungovernable. The Matanzima family didn't help - kleptocrat thugs - but neitherdid the ANC. It's a shame such beautiful music is deemed evil.

  • Tuuuuuuuune

  • Did i say forget? No i didn't. We still remember our death for both WW's, we still learn about the destruction of Leuven and his great university by the Germans in 1914, But today the Germans are our friends and allies.

  • When aggressors become weary or are defeated, they like to trumpet the adage "let bygones be bygones" as subtly examplified by your comment.Mandela says we must forgive but not forget.

  • 1)As a citizen of a country once occupied by the nazis i feel offended by your Goebbels quote.

2)I'm talking here about your calls upon cultural genocide on the Afrikaner people. You would like to destroy a great culture with ties with the flemish and dutch cultures, bases on Apartheid, with was only a fraction in time of the history of the Afrikaner or Boer-people.

You're claimed that you and your family suffered during apartheid, but with your ideas, you're no better than Apartheid.

  • The apartheid government had a gripe with the British(boer war) whilst they trod on us Black South Africans under their Gestapo like boots in a Nazi like fashion.I call you Goebbels for duping the YouTube viewers into believing that die stem is a national anthem of South Africa,IT IS NOT.Watch and see YouTube related videos above and re-educate yourself.I honoured you by calling you Goebbels hahaha!.Now, go and try your propaganda somewhere else.

  • You're calling me goebbels, reread your message one more time, i bet if someone send this message to Mandela, he would be really sad. If you act as your words, you're no better than the goverement of Apartheid. and than the name Goebbels applies only to you.

  • well have it your way... it seems blacks will never learn from their mistakes in africa.

because they know if i fuck up i can blame it on whitey
