Claret Prep Graduation Day
March 21, 2009

To the Administrators of Claret School, our teachers, parents, lolos and lolas, guests, my fellow graduates, good morning!

I am very happy to be here with all of my fellow classmates and schoolmates who will graduate from Prep because at last, we have completed Pre-School! First, we finished nursery, Kinder and now Prep. Next year, we will be in Grade 1 and I know you will see us differently then because we will all change.

We will all change because we will all grow up.

Our bodies will change. We need to become stronger because we will have more subjects to study, more assignments and hopefully more fun also in Grade School.

Our brains will also change. We have learned a lot when we were in Prep. We learned how to speak, read and write better. We tackled math problems, learned basic computer skills, the arts, songs and new games. Most of all we learned about St. Anthony Mary Claret, our patron saint. Starting next year and all throughout our stay here at Claret School, we will learn more things. The new information that enters our brain will help us to be more confident in ourselves and in what we can do now and in the future.

Most of all, our hearts will change for the better. For most of us, studying here at Claret was a bit scary at first. I remember the first time my parents brought me here. I was so terrified of the new school and so I cried a lot. But when I met my teacher and classmates, I started being happy because I learned new things and had lots of fun playing with friends. I am sure most of you felt that way. Now, after completing Prep, our feelings toward our school, our teachers, our classmates, our parents, relatives and other people have changed. We now love our school because it molds us to become better children and better Christians. We love our teachers because they teach and discipline us at the same time. We love our classmates because they are like our brothers and sisters. We love our parents and relatives because they have sacrificed a lot for us to be in this great school.

Graduation day is the perfect time for us to thank all those who have helped us become who we are.

We want to thank our school administrators, teachers and all the staff of Claret School for providing us with good education.

We also want to thank our parents and relatives who provide us with all the love and support that every child needs.

We would like to thank St. Anthony Mary Claret, whose love for little children, we still feel up to this day. He inspires us to love Jesus and Mama Mary and to always obey our parents.

Most of all, we thank God Our Father, Jesus and Mama Mary for their love for us and our families.

I would like to end my speech by highlighting our school motto which is Knowledge is best with virtue. This means that we should not only become great students, but we must also work even harder to become good children. With all your help, I know we can achieve that.

Thank you and may God bless us all in our academic journey.

Happy graduation everyone!
