All your music is beautiful! My Aunt Chris met you at a festival in Michigan not to long ago. I feel so bad for you when you play a beautiful original piece and it goes unappreciated but then you play a Christmas carol and everyone goes wild. It's like when people ask me to play stairway to heaven on guitar.

Also in the folk song of Japan, there are a lot of tunes of the pentatonic scale.
This sound is very Asian.

Ever thought of getting hold of a Yangqin?

Beautiful! However, I'd say the use of pentatonic scales is more American than the use of diatonic scales. So many of our great folk tunes are built on pentatonic scales. I'm thinking also of hymns like How Firm a Foundation and tunes like Beech Spring.

@jdphelps You're right Dean, when I was playing around with that scale I heard a bunch of other songs that are made out of 5 notes. That's amazing that we can write a song out of so few notes. I'm not the most astute theory person but I'm still learning. :)
