New Year's Eve 2007. About 30 minutes before midnight every New Year's Eve the pubs turn out in Allendale (Northumberland) to see the 'guisers' parade with their flaming tar barrels. At the end of their tour of the town the contents are thrown onto to the ceremonial bonfire. 2007 was very wet !

  • great footage, haven't seen one of these since New Year's Eve 1976! I was lucky enough to live in a house that overlooked the square in Allendale for a few years in the seventies. Would love to return one New Year. Thanks for posting.

  • thanks for your comments on this and the other vids. it must have been great to live over the square with this going on. When you go again I hope you have good weather - I got soaked taking this footage!
