Please rate it and tell me how you think it looks!

This is my third version of my mortar strike test. I have fixed the debri so it stays, added a glow to the explosion, and adjusted some lighting. I made this with After Effects, video copilots action essentials 2, their pro scores product, and I picture I found on the internet (with creative rights).

  • do you know how to plase burn marks? cause when i place a burn mark into my film the burn mark has a white background, and if i try to change the transfer mode to overlay it just get kind of washed out:(

  • Real mortar rounds don't have much of an "explosion" per say. Watch nXvS_EXq92g to see what a real mortar round looks like when it hits.

  • needs explosion light more light sorry for my english

  • id love to see some sky replacement, cloud movement,.. would be so amazing!

  • mre blending and better angles

  • Nice use of motion tracking, the only thing is maybe you cud show a lil smoke or something for the incoming mortars cus those explosions just looked like landmines or something

  • @svanjaproductions I'm going to have to agree... you can just tell its a picture. And there's nothing cool about that. lol.. OR! he could use wiggle the whole time, just a small amount, so it looks like someone is holding the camera, then when explosions happen, really boost the wiggle... just my opinion.

  • I would replace the sky because it's lifeless. The sky has no depth or movement. The trees in the scene also have no movement and should be moving slightly since your smoke is moving indicating there is a gently wind. You also might want to add a dust wave since the ground your launching mortars into would leave a dust cloud for about 45-90 seconds spreading about 20 yards in every direction with a constant dissipation. Probably want to speed up your explosion and make it a little larger too.

  • awesome vid dude and sweet color correction
