Gunship 2000 is a helicopter flight simulator and is the sequel to Gunship by MicroProse. It was released in 1991 for DOS. Amiga, Amiga CD32 and PlayStation (as Gunship) versions were released in 1993, 1994 and 1996 respectively. An expansion pack Gunship 2000: Islands and Ice was released subsequently.

Gunship 2000 significantly enhanced and expanded the features and gameplay from the original Gunship. Key areas of change were a move to full 256 colour graphics, enhanced terrain and general visuals, the ability to fly multiple helicopter types and finally the ability to command a team of helicopters and their crews.

  • I still remember vividly the victorious moment when I was promoted to command a team of helicopters. It was one of the happiest days of my life. All you disrespectful teenagers have no idea of the brilliance of this game! Damnit!

when i say small consoles, i mean in power reference, new consoles are made because of they old tech support, a PC will be updated every a short amount of time, either being the free software, or the EXTREMLY EXPENSIVE hardware, also, console simulators dont bring full controls, because for that, you need the keyboard, wich most of the player dont have, and is almost whortless

i think a desktop computer is 200% more recommended for simulators

  • i has heard about X plane being a small simulator for consoles, the most realistic one for consoles, i must say you are wrong about free falcon, free falcon is a modified falcon 4 for being free, get more realism and more graphics, missions, and bring more planes, what i mean, is that the old-school GE was just about:

bullet impact X part of the plane, X sector dont work well, X % damage, and then, you feel the damage, on the new cloned ones, is just about graphics, more like: BULLET HIT, UR DEAD

falcon? the game? god, some free developers made a free version that get updated every time (not like the non-existant open falcon), its called free falcon, it quality and design has been taken to the max, and it got more things that just the F-16

the point is, the nowdays flight simulator use a pre-made graphical engine wich is almost not customizable, on those days, it was easier to make a graphical engine, so every game got their own GE, i miss the old days :(

  • @piercedeyeball

i mean to make, not to play, and you can be sure the nowdays simulators are harder, however, worst
