This is rare protest footage of a procession held in Jeddah, Saudi arabia, with protestors chanting Allahuakbar and other islamic invocations over the government's corruption generally and general handling of the 2011 January Jeddah floods. From an arabic website, this video was described as being footage of not just anger about these floods specifically, but more generally government malfeasance.

This is VERY VERY rare in saudi arabia, and seldom do people protest against the government in any way shape or form. It is also said to be driven in part by what has happened in Tunisia and Egypt.

  • this is talia street in jeddah Saudi arbia. these are sunni Muslims not shia . they are angry at the government for the floods that happened 2 years in a row and after the first time the government said they would put up flood defenses . they didnt and it happend again this is what this demonstration about people lying. the government said something a didn't do it and loads of people died because of this again. well thats most goverments in the world.

  • If Egypt and Libya can overthrow their despots then Saudi Arabia can as well. I just hope that Saudi Arabia will become a democracy where everyone's voice is heard without people getting afraid of being arrested and put in prison, people are not flogged and executed on the street, and you can follow whatever religion you want. Islam is not the only religion on Earth.

  • @MultiKimil Allah doesn't exist except as a glove puppet for charlatans.

  • I dunno what these guys are hoping for squealing Allahu Akbar; do they want more theocratic tyranny or more slaves? The Arabians have a long and bloody uphill struggle, as does the Middle East. Sad to say it, but Muslims are going to have to learn peaceful protest but so long as they don't then it will be blood and slaughter all the way, all against all.

  • Believe me, the Saud Eodonk behind the sun do not you, nor is estimated to drop the Saudi regime

  • Allahu Akbar!!!!!!!

  • @ShadowSoundsUK Yes, democracy is flawed. But it's the best system we have. I don't think American democracy is truly representative of how things should work.

  • @adi87tya Islam is not the only religion on Earth yes, but democracy is not the only ideology. And let's be quite frank, democracy is pretty rubbish. America prides itself on democracy, yet it's systems of government are appalling. Forget the corruption, childish disputes and excessive time wasting, the system itself is flawed. Democracy claims to be representative, but how can two choices represent the diverse opinions of a population. More than two and the winner won't represent the majority.
