Hot Hits were cheap albums issued in the UK in the early 70s and featured cover versions of current hits . They were performed by anonymous session musicians.
In this cover of the Mr Bloe hit , the song features harmonica by Larry Adler.
Larry Adler ( 1914 - 2001 ) was an American born musician but he permanently relocated to the UK in 1949 as a result of the McCarthy communist witchhunt.

  • Not a bit of plastic on those women and damn did they look good!

  • This cover is actually better than the original!!?? Mr.Adler and Harry Pitch(the original Harmonica player) are both excellent but I think this drummer is better than Mr Bloe's!!

  • Great one to play on the ould Harmonica, lovin' it

  • An interesting version which I hadn't heard before. Prefer the original, one or two notes on the harmonica solo don't quite fit, Larry Adler or no Larry Adler. Bass is not quite as good also.

  • I used to have Hot Hits album with this on it. Oh boy. Thanks for making me feel old lol.

I think the reason what the albums so popular was the tasty women on them lol.

  • Well, what should I say... I thank you very, very much for uploading this great song! I didn't know about this version until now. And.... I'm still reapeating it for an hour nonstop since now! :)

    I love this version!

    - And the clip with all these LP-Covers suits perfectly to this song. That models were real women... today, someone would work the pictures over with Photoshop or a similar software, before publishing them. And that's such a shame....

My best regards and thank you, sir!

  • This is reasonable although is a little too fast and lacks the bass and depth of the original. The fact that is an instrumental makes it one of the better "Hot Hit" offerings as the cover versions with vocals were dreadful imo. I shudder to think what their version of Ides of march "Vehicle" sounded like............

  • The HOT HITS Compilation LP's were cheapo recorded versions of original tunes and songs recorded by a mixture of session musicians. A very common Cheapo LP was also done by K-TEL and again using ANY session musicians they could get hold of. Often they never gave the names of 'those' musicians. This recording could actually be anyone who was signed to work for the studio at that time. It's not a bad effort but nowhere near as good as the original.

  • knappe cover.... great

  • This adds up. Elton John and Larry Alder did hang out together.

  • Groovy, man, just plain groovy.... !
