I didn't know the saying "Sore hodo demo nai," but I'll keep it in mind.

And I wouldn't have guessed that "nice guy" means something like "playboy". Here in the states, nice guys are (too) often relegated to the friend zone.

If you wanted to break it down like that, "hodo" is "to that extent" and "demo" here can be thought of like "even," like in the following phrase:

"Nihonjin demo wakaranai nihongo :

Japanese that even Japanese people don't understand."
