This clip is much shorter and to the point than my previous one. It is also more appealing to the eye. For the full controversy see the original clip. However, this one's pretty good on its own.

this video clip does not do this play justice number one. and number two i was there that day... what this sliced and diced video doesn't show you is that the duck who had the ball also had his knee touch the ground... and if you idiots knew anything, (which you don't because you probably never played football), it means that the play is over. It doesn't matter who wrestles it away in the dog pile. DUH!
I'm a die hard Duck fan, but I remember watching this game and having a sick feeling in my stomach afterwards. I don't blame losses on officials much, but there's no other option here.
questionably the worst call in the modern sports era. missed calls are one thing, but awarding a team the ball when the other team is screaming at you proving possession may suggest something beyond incompetence. tensions have died down, the outcome is more forgivable to fans, but these refs will go down in infamy... deservedly so.
How the FUCK do you blow that call? Conclusive video evidence?? What we witnessed that day was the epitome of incompetence. They deserved their suspensions and then some.
lol wow is this still on here, jeez oklahoma fans are whiners, i'm sorry but get over it, it was a while ago, you guys have a good team every year, live with the current time not the past, yes it was a bad call but crap happens
Watch the replay again. Oregon never had possession of the ball, it was loose until the Sooners recovered it. But what was up with Oklahoma? They recovered the football, they should've been celebrating like drunken madmen for coming up with the ball. I don't get why they were so subdued. Had they made it more obvious that they got the ball, they could've swayed these incompetent officials.
As for the replay official, he was sanctioned and I don't think he's ever returned to the booth for duty.
