Dans le palais de Prométhée, orné de statues d'hommes et de femmes.
Prométhée, le Titan qui s'est opposé à Zeus en montrant son vif amour de l'humanité, donne vie aux statues qui ornent son palais.

The Palace of Prometheus, replete with statues of men and women.
Prometheus, the Titan who has come into conflict with Zeus through his dipslay of deep love for the human race, endows with life the statues wich adorn his palace.
Prometheus : Let us make the immortals blush over their sloth.
Aria : Ye spirits, who are subject to my sway, may this people endowed with life and exist by your fire!
Air pour les esprits du feu
Prometheus : May you be the most perfect artifacts of the universe.
Lent
Aria : Sing, mortals, sing.
Chorus : What brightness shines in our eyes ?
