  • @bwshepherd just trying to improve NFPA and NSWRFS relations.. i think this may have been addressed in the time since we've posted about it...but the australian / american exchange could be enhanced when we find little things like this that can be brought up for discussion

  • please can I have a response from NSWRFS?

  • @bwshepherd : I agree with you when you say that the proximity is an important factor, however it still is cause for concern. I put it to discussion on the NFPA facebook page.. Again it is a safety concern and being a wildfire fighter and a photojournalist i can't help but wonder if broadcasting "a wet cloth" is appropriate and if the NFPA would sanctify this video. BTW I would love love love to work with the NSWRFS on a fire crew or as a photojournalist..or BOTH!!

  • yes i agree

  • @benrennik Torben if you are standing that close that the hot air is burning your throat then more than likley your too close anyway.

  • a wet cloth???

Breathing through a wet shroud or bandana exposes the airways to hot, moist air, which can be more harmful than hot, dry air. Avoid breathing through wet cloth.
