  • Hey this is my recital piece...:O

  • A hot chick playin Debussy's best piece perfectly? I'd hit it. :)

  • I prefer it slow hahaha, it's all just taste I reckon.

  • Recital piece here i come -_-

  • @Mathlete1000 I totally agree, it's not that easy AND it does not need to be played faster. Yet, played fast it does create a totally different song. That's part of the wonder of Debussy: you can either play it slow and romantic, or (kind of) fast and magical. It all becomes very fairy-ish this way.

  • @Mathlete1000 I might be using a far-stretched fingering on the end. But just the same, I'm working the piece at its full length and speed, so it takes a lot of work not to BUTCHER it, haha. I'll probably check tutorials for cleverer fingering. Anyway, I worked on it today and I'm almost finished rehearseling that piece. Almost.

  • @Linkinvlad ya its not as easy as i said ^^ that was before i started playing it at speeds of 150+ then while it is not too hard is not that easy lol

    oops

piece does not exactly need to be faster but needs work tonally

  • @Linkinvlad hmmm... what fingerings are you using? the section with the many arpegios in a row going down are pretty easy...

the section after is a breeze with the exception of the part with the arpeggiated coords (sorry for my bad spelling)

c minor e flat major f sharp major g major

i agree that is hard because you must keep the thumbs interlocked while you play that and also the right hand under the left hand, so you must jump the left hand into the air a little bit.

  • @Mathlete1000 I would kind of disagree here. The end is really much harder than many parts in the beginning. The arpegio at 1:57 is easy though, but the sections after it are hard if you want to play them fast. However, I totally agree with the method: hard work, countless repetitions and spread reherseals over time will make anyone be able to achieve this.
