    That's a common argument, and it's faulty.

Yes, super advanced aliens would probably see us at the same level as flies, but there's a limit, we don't care about "torturing" bacteria do we?

However, insects don't have enough neurons to even have the advanced mental capabilities we do.

They probably don't even experience pain, they react to it in a defensive way, but they don't get traumatized, and they don't show anything resembling the same level of consciousness that we do

just because it's different doesn't mean it's life is less valuable.

All this concern about harming insects is fine but you are missing the big picture. At the department of defense a goal is to turn these insects into spy drones. As the video says people have learned to intercept sight images from the insects. And this was back in 2008. An objective is to enable insects to fly anywhere and send back pictures and/or sound. From our enemies to begin with but how do you limit use. If there were ever a science that could be abused to out detriment this is it.

we should respect the nature and stop abusing it for our own ends we have no more right to life than any other species, we should use our knowledge to preserve the nature but we choose to destroy it for profit.Tthis is destroying for profit.

I'm afraid your biology teacher won't be able to answer. Better check out 2nd Ch; 16th verse onwards of the Bhagavad gita (google vedabase).

Indeed, innumerable beings are sacrificed in the name of science but unfortunately, mostly for the benefit and comforts of a very few other 'superior' beings.

Death through accidents is inevitable. Killing plants (for food) as well. Humans are supposed to educate themselves through morals and religion, in order to know what's acceptable and what's not.

Cool story, will remember to ask my science teacher to teach us about the biological discoveries about this "Soul".

Seriously though, these insects are being sacrificed for the development of science, which trust me.. Will be needed in the near future to save our living forces as you call it.

You have probably killed insects in your sleep.

So you are saying the life of a human is the same value as the life of an insect?

People obviously have difficulty understanding the difference between a living body and a death body. Whether it's the body of a human, an animal or a plant, it's living, moving and feeling because some living force is within there. That living force is also called 'soul'. And yes, plants and insects also have feelings, although these feelings may be of a more primitive nature than those belonging to human bodies. The living force is one, though manifested in different life forms.
