  • What if Americans read and understood the Constitution? What if Americans refused to have their rights trampled upon by the government? What if Americans actually held their politicians up to the requirements of the Constitution?

Well, we wouldn't be in the situation we're in today, that's for sure. Mr. Hannan does a good job pointing out what a beautiful legal document we have here in the United States, it's just too bad only a few of us really appreciate it.

  • This gentleman's voice is one of the few reasonable ones I've heard coming from Europe. Europe has had 3000 years of disunity, they're not going to be unified for another 3000 years.

  • Umm...why is there a debate in the comments over the Mexican-American War (I'm assuming that's what you're talking about) on a video that has nothing to do with that subject?

  • @Teranex You're version of history is revisionist. Great Britain was lurking in the Oregon Territory and the govt was worried about the crown exerting its hegemony in California. It was in our interest to do this because Mexico was/is helpless internationally.

  • @Teranex America let them govern themselves under our constitution

  • @Teranex a) Visions of America

  • @snappa52 "America forgave Europe's debt"-Not because US was such a "good" state, but because it wanted to prevent the rise of communism in Europe.

"is paying its debt"-Actually after some research i found out that Mexico didnt own any money to the US. Some people in Texas wanted reparations for war damages from Mexico (Roughly 3 mil dollars), which doesn't constitute a debt under international law. Thus i highly doubt you got any knowledge about the Mexican-American war.

  • @snappa52 A) Find me one source which says that the war was started because of the Mexican debt to USA

B)Mexico didnt commit to any action which would provoke a war.

C)The territory was internationally and indisputably recognized as a part of Mexico.

D)Mexico provided the governance for the 15.000 people which lived there. USA in comparison also didnt provide any more governance then Mexico did in the immediate aftermath of the capture as there was no need.

  • @Teranex How soon we forget that America forgave Europe's debt after rebuilding it? The United States is paying its debt, therefore your argument about invasion is not only stupid but it is also a straw man.

  • @Teranex

    a) you don't know your history, Mexico stiffed America 15m and gave them the middle finger when asked to pay.

    b) Mexico goaded America into war.

    c) no one had a legit claim to the land who wasnt native American (pueblo, navajo, etc.)

    d) Mexico provided little or no governance to the area.

    e) General Grant is welcome to his opinion.
