I made a trip back to the Black Diamond Mines Regional Preserve in Antioch, CA just to see Spring in its full glory before the heat of Summer arrives. This trip, however, did not provide for any new mine footage. The visitor center, which is located within a mine, is closed for renovation, and is not due to reopen until 2009. My original intention was to make it down to a spot called "Jim's Place" which is a former cave dwelling of someone possibly named Jim. I didn't make it that far, but I did hike further on this trip than last. And ran smack into a herd or two of cows.

I moved to beautiful Oregon from Antioch a little over two years ago. I lived fairly near the mines and spent many hours hiking through those beautiful hills. Thank you for making this video it was a wonderful reminder of the beauty in Antioch.
