Yes, there is a jig that I use with my grinder. I have a video up on my channel about sharpening that I think would answer your quetions the best.

I would also be interested in a skew video. I notice you tend to use the skew going right to left and the gouge going from left to right.

how do you sharpen those tools? they look like not all of them are a straight blade. is there some kinda of jig? or special tool you use? or is it easier to get them sharpened by someone else?

Hi Carl, I have a lot of difficulty getting my skew to cut if i hold it the way you do. Is it because the bevel isn't right or just isn't sharp enough? I started turning about 2 years ago and had to teach myself basically everything

Is poplar wood o.k. to use for a rolling pin? Also what kind of finish should. I use. Mineral oil or olive oil? Thanx for this video it is awesome.

Yes I think Poplar is a great choice. Use a food safe finish of your choice. I use salad bowl oil for my food safe finishes.
