  • okay... so I have shaken the plant... flicked the flowers... and beat it with a newspaper... in other words, I have abused the plant to try to force it to pollenate... :) we shall see if it works.

  • I've had a lot of success with arm and hammer baking soda. I mix about one teaspoon to a 32oz spray bottle and spray the entire plant once a week or so. Can't really remember how I stumbled upon this remedy, but it certainly works very well.

  • It also happened to my tomato plants.. many flowers, no fruit. and the flowers just fall off... I just cut the whole 5 plants 5ft high and plan to plant a new one..

  • so, do tell us what happened. to me your plant looked overly green. you needed to prune a lot more so that not all the early summer energy was going into leaf/branch production. however, i am sure later in the summer, even if you did nothing, you had some fruit set.

  • your plants look very green and healthy... how hot does it get during the day?? Tomatoes can drop flowers when daytime temps get over 90 for consecutive days.. I have had that happen to me... Also if you have too much nitrogen you will get a huge vigorus green tomato plant , but no flowers.. check you soil for nitrogen content and if its too high put down some lime..again this happened to me and when I used garden lime from epsoma in 2 wks I had a tomato explosion!!

  • HI: Here's some info I got from Iowa State University you might find helpful. Good luck.

High temperatures for several consecutive days, coupled with

drought conditions, will lead to poor pollination and

cause flowers to drop from the plants. Hot drying winds

may intensify the problem. Plants sometimes drop their

flowers when night temperatures are lower than 55° F.

The most favorable night range for tomato fruit set is between 58 and 68° F

  • At 1:11, that's a tomato, little huh? Well, you probably figured it out by now, you did have some, yes? If not, might be a lack of phosphorus, too much nitrogen and or both of the above.

I'll slip through your other videos to see if the tomatoes were found. : - )

  • temp or soil.

  • it looked like there was a baby tomato in the flower you show in the video. anyway, you can get no fruit set if your day temps are very hot, and very humid. be patient. they'll come.
