The Extro Vertebrates and Tiktaalik

CVA group project Spring 2009. Starring Stephen, Jeanine, Laine and Francis. All lyrics by yours truly. This is a video that we all had to do for our comparative vertebrate anatomy class. We had to argue whether or not this extinct transitional species was a fish or a tetrapod. As you can see, we had a lot of fun putting this one together. Here are the lyrics that my fellow classmates wanted to see. enjoy!

They call me newt

But I'm a fishy

Well here's a story of a new found critter

For Tiktaalik roseae

There's a huge debate that
Just keeps on gettin' hotter
Tiktaalik roseae was just a
Fish outta water
Or was it a tetrapod?
Like a crocodile? or a cod?

Well I believe that Tiktaalik
Was fish, yes fish
And not
Not Tetrapod!

....Well open up your eyes
Like Jeanine
Gular plates for buccal pumping
These are qualites of a
Tetrapod yea
An imbricated ribcage made it
Move more freely
And its fins were sturdy.
These are qualities of a tetrapoooooood!

So we believe that
Tiktaalik was not
A fish but was a tetrapod

Tiktaali-iik and C-V-A
C-V-A....and
Tiktaalik roseaaaaeeee wooo!
