Hidden & Dangerous 2: When Cars and People Collide

Ah Hidden and Dangerous 2, a rather excellent WWII themed commando game that featured a somewhat glitch-ridden game engine. Not so much an issue until you attempt to play it online.

The game features some of the worst hit detection in online FPS history - where yours truly could often top the scoreboard just by running around with a pistol and knife alone whilst everyone else is firing machine guns etc at me. Ah those were the days. There were many other glitches and oddities to be found, and in this video made back in 2004, myself and several members of the HD2 1FJD clan decided to experience some of them for ourselves in a short gaming session.

This video features clips recorded by myself, and also by a chap going by the name Fudge, and then put together in Virtual Dub and finished off in Windows Movie Maker. There isn't a proper ending because we never intended to make a movie as such and there wasn't enough footage captured. We tried again a few times at a later date to try some more stunts but most of them failed and we got increasingly bored with it all.

Anyway, here's the video - it isn't great but you can at least see some of the odd things that occur in this now old, but pretty great game. I'd still be playing the game now, where it not for the fact that it no longer works properly on my PC.

No it isn't free, however, Hidden and Dangerous 1 is FREE. Or believed to be. It requires a PC, probably an older one that doesn't have the Vista virus running on it.

This game had strangely awesome multiplayer with prolonged firefights mostly due to the fact that you could "lag dance" and hitting enemy requires leading your shots on them. Lots of fun.

The lag dances were ridiculous though. I used to play most of the time with just a pistol and knife and a grenade, without a helmet or other gear so I could run around causing hell. On Czech 4 it was often easy to be top scorer because whilst other players take it seriously and use cover, you're running from flag to flag capturing them whilst they have little more success killing you with their SMGs than you do killing them with your pistol. I had some fun times but the glitches ruined it.

Go into 'I' Inventory. Move aqualung to discard position with mouse. :-)

@collieuk i just got into the hidden and dangerous series, so far its really great, me and another friend started playing online through tunngle a couple days ago. Hopefully he'll also get H&D2 SS so we can play that together, shame they didn't have coop form the beggining for the sequel :/
