While it's true that April was never a fighter in the original 1984 comic book (the TRUE version of TMNT), she was also never a reporter in it, either. The reporter thing started in the 1987 cartoon. So, if you wanna say what the REAL April was, then no, she wasn't a reporter, either... because the old cartoon wasn't the real version of TMNT. It was a tone-downed kids version.
Though, as far as April being a fighter goes, there WAS the Sega Genesis version of TMNT Tournament Fighters. =P

she was a reporter for the classic '87 ninja turtles series. but never for the comic book series or recent telivision series.
and this is the first time she is introduced with such fighting abilities. i think karai would of been a better fit for the fighting role of the women who play.
but no, they gotta sale, sale, sale!

They always have to change something... April O'Neal is not a ninja, shes a reporter.
This game is a timed exclusive for the 360, and will be available on PSN later on. I dont know about the Wii.

I'm digging that the TMNT 2K3 voice actors are doing the voice work for this one. Anyone else notice how Raph and Donnie were left off. I can't speak for others, but I'm curious what they'd have my two favourite Turtles say regarding why they fight.

Turtles in Time, HyperStone Heist, and the SNES version of Tournament Fighters need to be released on the Wii's Virtual Console.

This and the Turtles in Time remake would mark the first time I've been psyched for a new TMNT game since the SNES days.
