We were somewhere around Route 17 on the edge of Celadon City when my eyes began to close. I remember saying something like "I feel a little sleepy. Maybe we should stop..." You know, I know Zubat sucks stat wise, especially in the early games. But there's something about a blind, worthless, screeching bat-thing that you run into every 3 damn steps and that flies in packs of millions in any dark room that I find charming.

In what way? You face a large number of enemies that use some mix of ice, rock, psychic or simply very powerful attacks. Zubat's stats aren't that great. In the early games it's not even capable of using Fly. Confusion and poison are of limited use against a lot of enemies and before long you'll find yourself wanting to switch out for much more powerful options.

I never let my PKMN faint. EVER. (I reset) ...well...once - you know how when you're in bed in the middle of the night up running through Mt. Moon seeing Zubat after Zubat, pretty much just button smashing without really paying attention - well, I SAVED THE GAME. Then I looked at my party - AND 1 OF MY PKMN HAD FNT STATUS!! I can only guess it knocked itself out from Supersonic or Struggle & I switched to next without noticing! ×д× But that'll be our little secret! My record goes untarnished! ;)
