Gary Jules Mad World cover
OK ... I want to add a few things here:
Thank you those who message me and encourage me; be that constructive criticism or straight-and-simple nice comments then know that I appreciate you as much as you appreciate me. But Youtube wouldn't be Youtube without those 'other' comments I have had in messages too; I'm sure you all know which ones I mean :)
So to clear a few things up:
I've never sang in a Karaoke Bar, wedding, on vacation or anywhere else what is known to be 'public'. One reason is I'm too shy to do this, another is I'm not, at all, confident so I have *never* performed publically and I have no plans to ever do. Another reason is that I don't take anything I sing (be it in here or in the bathroom) seriously enough to do anything other than put them in here; that doesn't mean I don't take some of what I do sing seriously on my part; some songs touch us all, to sing them is to 'feel' them.
That leaves the question of why I put vid's of me singing in here and I'm stuck on that issue; mind you, if a day comes that I have some reasoning that tells me I shouldn't be then I'll stop doing so; simple as.
I've *never* recorded myself singing (audio or video) up to about one year ago; what's in Youtube is what I've recorded. Sorry, not strictly true; there *are* other songs, but for my own reasons I won't put them in here. So me recording myself is a recent 'thing' and I don't know why I started to do it ... I just did.
I pick up backing tracks, a few of them here I never heard before so I search out the track and do a quick 'Study' then 'go for it'; that's simple enough. 'Time In A Bottle' is a classic song that I never did get my heart into; I picked up the track and when I listened to it properly I (sorta) 'discovered' a song I'd heard many times but didn't really get into it; picking up a track and then singing it suddenly brings the tune to life and as if it's the first time I ever heard it. I'm not sure if you would get my drift here?
I don't have any 'kit' or equipment (perish the thought) and I use either a combination headphone/mic set or, headphones and second-hand desktop mic I purchased at the local weekly Computer Fair for £5.00; and that's it.
I've had messages that 'accuse' me of lip-sync ... LOL. I cannot get my head around that because I don't think I do anything good enough to warrant me wanting to lip-sync something someone else did. Oh, and finally, I am my own worst critic. I certainly have no visions of grandeur outside my own reality; that's for those who feel I am (in some way) 'Mimicking the dream.'
This was simply beautiful. If you are looking for constructive criticism, I have only this to say. The connective flow between words, how smoothly you transition between each word and phrase could be smoother. Other than that, I applaud you for your performance and your courage, for it is never easy to show yourself through song.

@8ballbuilder Thank you so very much for your constructive comment and I do take onboard what you say. Soon I am going to re-do everything that's here with better equipment. I know that it won't change the way I sound, but I think the sound quality could be a LOT better than singing through a simple headset and all the background noise that goes with it. Again, thank you so much for your comment! :) ~F~
