Modified Squier Bullet Strat slide guitar

More Sunday afternoon noodling, this time on a recently finished/ongoing project. It's tuned to open D and is strung with .015-.056 gauge D'Addarios.

I bought this '00 Squier Bullet hardtail used about eight years ago and have been changing stuff on it ever since. Ironically, it has a lot of its original hardware reinstated in its current form. Notable modifications include the wiring, which is a single neck pickup from a Fender U.S. Standard Strat wired to 250k Alpha pots with a "50's style" tone circuit and a more midrange-heavy .01 cap. I also just finished making a lap steel-style saddle for it out of a piece of 5/16" square steel rod. It's held in place by string tension against the front two bridge mounting screws and is a great improvement over the original rattle-prone saddles.

you just defaced a rare guitar you fool you should of sold it before you modified it but what ever makes you happy and good playing your pretty good but you still made a dumb decision

@jayandthebongman This isn't one of the more valuable MIJ 80's Bullets, it is from 2000-2001, made in Indonesia, and I bought it used for $80 about eight years ago. These sold new for $100 and were the bottom of the Affinity range at the time. Albeit these are less common than a regular Affinity Strat with the larger headstock and tremolo, they are not rare or valuable but are solid playable guitars for not much money.

@naruhina102 I do not plan to; the saddles I make are custom made for each of the guitars I have. I made them out of a $3 piece of steel rod form the hardware store and shaped them with files so they aren't overly difficult to make if you have files and a benchtop vice.

@voided3 its an uncommon make fender stopped making them but still use is that name for there cheap models its still had value until you modified it
