"Pigs on the Wing" is a two-part song by the progressive rock band Pink Floyd from their 1977 concept album, Animals, starting and wrapping up the album.

This video features a live version taken from an Oakland, CA concert in 1977 where Part 1 was followed by "Dogs" and then Part 2. I've combined parts one and two.

This video was originally created for the studio versions, w/Snowy White's guitar solo tying them together, (Video #72 if you happen to live in that one country where it's apparently still playing), but since (almost) no one can see it, I dug through some old live boots and reedited the video. 3rd time's the charm (hopefully) as I had previously reedited and uploaded a cover version of the track (also #73), but I just wasn't feeling it, so it's now been replaced with this live version.

I sure wish my original video would be allowed to play as it remains my preferred version of the song..and the video as well. Oh well, maybe some other day?

Animals ties Wish You Were Here as my favorite Pink Floyd album. It's a extremely dark album, but it captures the band at the height of their considerable musical prowess.

I hope this video is (finally!) the start of several I hope to do by Pink Floyd....I won't rest until I've taken a shot at a video for every track on both Wish You Were Here and Animals.....course it might take a while?! LOL!

Very true, but together they were PINK FLOYD!!!!! LOL! Keep hoping against hope that there might be some new music/tour from them before it's all done.

Dave Gilmour. the only man I will ever truly love. If not for his turtle-like appearance but mostly for that sick power the mighty lord of rock instilled upon his hands that then touched and OWNED every guitar he touched after that. Rather like King Midas except the notes are the gold that morph into thoughts inside your rat maze of a brain and transmute into solid feelings of warmth, passion and intensity when you hear them calling to you from the speakers.

Thanks T! I was all excited about doing some PF tunes, seriously planned on doing most of Animals and Wish You Were Here...but probably not if I have to use more live stuff. As much as I love them live, it's the studio versions that really inspire me. Maybe one day though?!

I've subscribed, you have a ton of videos I'm loving, no time to do them ALL but damned man, I bet Pink Floyd would not only approve of your work with their music, but may even share it out to their fans. Have you thought of trying to contact them? I did it with the Monster Magnet one & all my new stuff is with the band's knowledge & permission, because they liked what I did, and mine are simple bullshite compared to yours. I'm a lifelong PF fan & I'm damned impressed.

I've recently started making music videos for bands & especially exclusive songs not found online anywhere, like a Jim Morrison Monster Magnet song, an Iggy Pop & Stooges one, then somehow got into making videos for the industrial goth type bands this past week. Having more fun doing music videos than I do filming live shows & my camcorder's out for repairs, so no shows for awhile. Think the C&W karaoke broke it. LOL
