OK, I am posting this so I can hope to see some improvement later this year. This is from memory, and I weep at the goofs, but thanx for listening and commenting! I can not play repeats due to my 3 minute camera which this barely gets all 4 sections in!

I started off playing ragtime in 2001 with the big pink classic rag book. At that time, I couldn't even play octaves due to my small hands and short fingers. It has taken me 6 years so far to get this far, but it is alot of fun! Now I have too many rag books to distract me!! Where does it all end, I have no idea, but it is an interesting journey!!

  • Do you know "The Entertainer"?

  • Not well enough to post. It is a popular rag, and my refridgerator can play it, so I guess I should learn it someday and post it. Thx for your comment!

  • idasynco: what does mean "refridgerator"?

  • My refrigerator has a piano magnet that plays the Entertainer when you press the piano keys!

  • It's hard to top Scott Joplin. I've always loved this tune, and you give it a very nice touch.

  • thanks for the nice comment. Happy New Year to you!

  • I love to hear honest piano players. I like hearing your music more than someone who has had many years of training. It is much more honest and pure. Fun to listen to. I may have heard another of your songs a couple months ago. There is something about rag music that is so cool.

  • @thenotoriousadin no no no no, I speak English but I didn't realiste that it's full term of, I call it "fridge" (contraction)

  • @Kapomafioso Where food is stored... its cold. tell me what language you speak, and I can translate for you

  • Very nice playing. However I should point out that the title is just Weeping Willow -a ragtime two step- .There is a rag called weeping wiilow rag however by H A Fischler written in 1911.Sorry to be a stickler for detail I just thought you might find that of interest as a ragtime enthusiast like myself.

  • Don't get discouraged. Rags are a lot harder than everyone thinks. They just sound simple. I started playing them in 1973 when the movie The Sting was popular. I was the only one playing rags in music school. They are exhausting to play and you need a lot of stamina. Now, isolate the hard parts and work on them endlessly. I put up a quick impromptu version of Maple Leaf rag which I can play in darkness but I still make mistakes. My hands are large. I can reach an 11th. Sometimes a detriment.
