If I were a black Jewish gay woman, would my discrimination trump your discrimination?
-
My civil rights were more abused than yours, so therefore tough luck?
Black people couldn't hide their appearance, gay people can blend in and lie.
But show that you are openly gay in high school, walk hand in hand down the street, have a kiss as the other departs a train, and then you'll see what sort of society we live in.
When was the last time you were racially vilified because you were holding your girlfriend of 10 years hand in public? And if you were recently, that's disgusting, but sur

Who the hell cares what blacks think!

Allow me to get out of hand...THIS IS BULLSHIT!!!!!!

gay people dont choose to be gay the same way black people dont choose to act like fool

amen to that. it is disgusting compare being a fag to being black.
The predominate arguement presented in this video is that "Black people have less choice about being black, than do gay people about being gay".
This misconstrues what a civil right is. A civil right is the right of a person to live according to one's choices if those choices don't hurt others. Thus, it is irrelevant to claim that a choice to live a certain way removes the protections of civil rights for those people.
Nevermind the fact that no one chooses to be gay anyway.

Thanks, bishops and reverends all. You've proven that prejudice is an equal-opportunity sin, and can afflice any of us without regard to race or religion.
Marriage IS a civil right, according to our Supreme Court. Neither you nor any other American "owns" civil rights. They are not yours to franchise out as you choose.
The only question is, why do you feel that you are superior to your neighbors and that you deserve special rights you would deny to them?
