  • I swear the Hawk eye rattled my head more than any plane on deck. Others have said the EA-6B was more of a paint shaker. I know the Prowler & F-14 had way more thrust, but those Allison turbo props created some turbulence.

  • @jjjazycraig

The rotordome "radar dish" is aerodynamically nuetral. It's shape does not add to or take away from the planes lift. But its weight does a little bit.

  • @LoyalRebelion its not the ramp denying the takeoff of prop planes its the catapult system, the Charles de Gaulle along with the American carriers are the only ones to use hydrolics for takeoff

  • does that radar dish give them much added lift???id so...is this the e2 a bi plane?!?

  • @LoyalRebelion the french do launch these type of aircrafts and on a smaller carrier.

  • I think the CDG carrier can , bcz it have E2-C too

  • Is that the one with the curved propellers?

  • i think the french bought a couple of these planes to use on their carrier, so they too would obviously be capable =)

  • ONLY the US navy could launch a plane like that from a carrier. The ramp system of the russian and chinese carriers is not capable of that

  • V.A.W.-113 Represented.

    76-77 Westpac BIG-E.
