(Yes, I know I am HUGE on him, lol.) So, I was asked to train/ride Robin Hood, an ADORABLE 5 year old, 11 hand, welsh/Connemara cross! This was only his 5th ride EVER! He is doing so well! We need to work on steering a bit more, but other than that he is coming along very well! He will eventually be doing pony club and small pony hunters. He has wonderful movement, too! Hopefully we will be cantering soon! We are headed to our first group lesson next Thursday. :) Stay tuned for more Robin Hood! :D *Oh, and I know I am posting on the wrong diagonal, but I wasn't really concered with that, just steering and moving forward. :)

  • If you don't mind me asking, how much do you weigh? We have a 11 hand 5 yr old pony mare that I want to train. I weigh about 130 and I'm 5'7". My saddle takes up her entire back. So far I've ridden her bareback at a walk, but I"m concerned that I'm hurting her. She's a Shetland/mini cross.

I keep the rides very short.

  • @sylvesmiller hi! thanks for your comment. :) I weigh about 92 lbs and am 5'2". I think you may want to consider having a smaller person ride your pony, just because your pony is so small. However, I think a few little training rides a few times a week won't her- Shetlands are stronger than they look! Good luck!

  • did you like your donkey ride

  • @steve74i lol wut?

  • you must have to post so softly xD

  • @GirlzGotSoul113 lol yes, so I don't squish him! :D he is so cute and tiny. :)
