DENVER -- A Denver police officer captured on surveillance video allegedly bullying a disabled woman is the center of two other abuse allegations now in federal court.

Denver police confirm the two officers who went to an apartment complex after a woman claimed she was abused are Shawn Miller and George Gann.

7NEWS uncovered that Miller faces other abuse allegations.

"It's disgusting, really," said Jason Graber, who filed a civil lawsuit against Miller.

Graber said on March 23, 2008, he was leaving a downtown nightclub and heading to the Adams Mark hotel, where he was staying for the night. He said he was crossing Market Street near the 16th Street Mall when he said a police car sped down the street.

"I thought we were going to get run over at first and I put my hand up and was like, 'Hey do you see us? Stop," said Graber. "He turned onto the 16th Street Mall, and then he came running out of the car. (Miller) came up behind me and tackled me in the street."

Two days later, court records show, the same officer had a run-in with James Moore, an Iraq war veteran. It occurred in front of Moore's apartment on Blake Street. The complaint said Miller was responding to a noise complaint against Moore.

"Moore was beaten so badly by Miller he flat-lined on the street," said David Lane, an attorney for Graber and Moore.

Lane said the two cases disappeared off the Police Department's radar, so the men chose to file civil suits in federal court.

"Denver has a long and sordid history of tolerating brutal police officers and doing nothing about it," said Lane.

Lane said the case uncovered by 7NEWS is a third case against the same officer and the city of Denver.

Surveillance video shows the officer seeming to bully a nearly blind woman after she didn't buzz him into a secured building right away while she was getting her mail.

"At some point maybe Denver might wake up, especially if this costs the taxpayers of Denver an arm and a leg," said Lane. "If you want brutal cops patrolling the streets of Denver, you are just going to keep writing checks."

The Denver Police Department will not comment on any of these cases, citing an internal affairs review and the federal lawsuits. No criminal charges have been filed against the officer.

"There are obviously two sides to every story," said David Bruno, spokesman of the Police Protective Services. "We've barely gotten the first side and haven't heard the second, let alone the full story."

This is not the exception, folks - especially in larger cities. Police work often attracts sociopathic types who crave unaccountable power over their fellow man. Of course, classifying insects like Shawn Miller as a "man" is really stretching it.

If you as a cop or supervisor are trying to cover up the wrong of one of the officers in your presinct then you are just as much as a pig as the low life scum who use their badg to commit crimes.

We need a Drop Squad that goes around putting down these rabid savages with badges.

I would fucking LOVE to hear that cops that with a history of brutality, excessive force and shooting unarmed civilians are being shot in the head multiple times in front of their families, so they can share the horror of what civilians have to go through.

Those animals hide behind their badges and abuse, tortue, main and murder with impunity.

If they started getting killed I would dance a fucking jig...

Denver is very anti-gun, as is Aurora.

Guess where all the gun problems exist?

Major cities have gun and drug problems as a matter of course.

Most people try and avoid the big cities, and the problems, but there are people who are attracted to all of this.

Some become cops, and just fit in.

Safe to say this Shawn Miller would not cut it anywhere else in Colorado.

I challenge you to rethink your assumption that police are 'necessary' to preserve law & order, esp in our 'gun-crazed & psycho' society. All police CAN do is enforce laws. But law & order is maintained by citizens who have respect for self & others & a sense of civic duty. The militarization of society resulting from reactionary excesses that shield the culpability of ruling elites & high-status notables has created an antagonistic US vs Them mindset that encourages police abuses & violence.
