  • The Spirit hit me at 9:00. HARD!

Re never forgot Clara and Gertrude and Mahalia ( Referencing Ms Jacksons How I got over at the end.)

What it woulda been like in the Franklin house back when.

Cause you KNOW Cecil can sang. And Rev Franklin. Brenda. Carolyn. And Erma? Well ya got me sis Erma. Ya got me good.

I just wish they was all her to see Re sing for President Obama.

Lawd lawd. Surely God is able.

How we made it over!!!! Glory glory.

Like Lowery said Amen Amen and Amen again.

  • Thanks for posting a comment. I too enjoyed the inaguration performance be the Queen. Another side note. It is reported that the millinery hat shop, where the Queen purchased the hat has had so many request from around the world that they have sold out of the material!

  • Well you know that Hat was OFF tha HOOK.

Its funny when she is informal and exposed she can often look (dare i say it) well you know.

But when she covers up and is more conservative in her wardrobe(at these kind of events or in the church) she looks AMAZING, even if she is a bigger lady. I respect her right to wear whatever she wants.

Her wardrobe was perfect Tuesday. THAT HAT!

Do you know if she performed at any other of the events? I was hoping she did.

    Bless you for sharing.

  • I agree with what you "Dare not say!". There is Regal reserve about the QUEEN, at such events. I have been in the company of the Queen, on serveral occasions. She most times is dressed in good taste. Sometimes, the photo's do not properly display how she really looks. I know photo's lie on me all the time! I do not know if she sang at any other events. Thanks again for posting.

  • i love her voice during this era

  • Looking at this again i have never seen Re quite like this. She is in a deep place somehow at this time. Only other time i've seen her in this state was at Dr. Kings homegoing.

    HEY!!!! YEAH!!!!

  • Yes, Aretha gave a FREE Concert at, of all places, The Kennedy Center-where she had received Honor years prior. This was the evening before the Inauguration. The lines outside the Center to get tickets, I'm told, were SEA deep!! Since you were talking about apparrel, I'm reminded of the yellow gown Aretha wore when she sang at Clinton's evening Gala. Ya know how Aretha likes to show cleavage. However, she looked absolutely STUNNING in that gorgeous gown!! It's the Best I've seen her wear.

  • OMG what a blessing to stumble across this clip, I am a diehard Aretha fan and I have always thirsted to see her sing some gospel song. I mean i have them but to see it, awesome! Thank you soo much.

  • Well ya took me all the way back to the Ol' Landmark THGMusic08

Thankyou. Thanks so much for sharing.

  • Thanks for the info
