there are a few differences between Malena and Montserrat Caballè.
first,Montserrat his a full lyric soprano,and malena his a mezzo soprano, full lyric sopranos got a higher pitch than mezzos.
despite the orchestra sound,lyric sopranos can be strength enough to be heard by the public.
at some times you can barely listen malena´s voice,which denotes a lack of power in higher pitch.
roles with a lower register are more suitable to malena´s voice,not this one.
and do get me wrong,I love malena.

I loved this woman!!!!! Her performance was stellar! She should have won Eurovision, noone came near to her voice strength. Bravo from Russia!
