The Doctor Who Theme was composed by Ms Delia Derbyshire, but was never credited to her because of the sexist culture at the BBC at the time.

Ron Grainer composed the Doctor Who Theme and turned over his orchestral work to the BBC Radiophonic Workshop where Delia Derbyshire

That was awesome! I'm a knob twiddler myself and found that the Odyssey sounds a lot like my Arp Axxe and now I too can play Doctor Who. I don't think that the guy interviewing him knew much abut music gear, but that made it all that more interesting, because in order to have the synth mastery of BBC music composers, well that's really what the interview was about. Well done and I'm adding to my favourites.

This is signal processing as a means unto itself. The technology dominates and obliterates the theme composition. The atmosphere of the original arrangement by Delia Derbyshire had a darker more visceral mood and stood alone as a work of art. This is just plastic.

I remember seeing this clip when it originally aired. That presenter's "career" has long finished and he was a total twat, but Peter Howell is still going strong.
