And I unlocked the telus iPhone 3G, then I put a Rogers sim card in and it worked properly!
And I think my problem is the sim card isn't activated properly or some settings on the telus network, but I'm just so happy the problem is isn't with the iPhone 3G :)

That's what I exactly did, I had a motorola rival and it doesn't use a sim card.
Then I bought an iPhone 3G off someone then I also bought a sim card, then I activated the sim card about 2 weeks ago, then every time I would put my telus sim card it would say activating may take some time, then it will say restricted network
-
yea man it's definitely the sim card, because i don't even think the sim card is still activated properly, cause I just switched from a CDMA phone to an HSPA back in June 13, and when I put the sim card it will say activating may take some time, and it will still say that even now!
So do u think telus will gimme a new sim card for free??
-
yea man it's definitely the sim card, cause I'm pretty surel

It's a telus iPhone, and when I bought it was in 3.1.3 firmware, and when i put my sim card it said the same thing and when I put a Rogers sim card back when it was 3.1.3 it will say invalid sim, but now when I unlocked the iPhone 3G to firmware 4 Rogers sim card works perfectly, but on my telus sim card it's still the same problem!
So it has to be the telus sim card
Hey i need some help to know if this is possible. I want to buy a telus iPhone off of someone so there's no contract, and then buy and transfer my plan onto a telus sim card. If i use my current plan on the sim card (Current plan does not have data plan) can i then use the iPhone without a data plan?

@willraz From what i know, telus iPhones just use 3g network. When you look online at the iPhone plan it's just made for the iPhone. Ask a Friend to use their iPhone to put in your aim card and check. It may or may not work. They have cheap data plans anyways.

So what are ur opinions on fixing my problem, because the problem isn't obviously with the iPhone 3G, because the iPhone works perfect in a Rogers sim card!
But everytime I put my telus sim card, it will say activating may take some time,, then it will say restricted network!
What should I do pls pls help me!

Hello, I have problems, so I bought an iPhone off of someone, and everytime I would put my new telus sim card that I just activated it would say "activating may take some time", but it wouldnt activate on my iphone 3g even still now when I activated my sim card back in June 13, and then it would say "your cellular network is restricted....".
Then when I updated my iphone 3g to the latest firmware ios 4, then I unlocked the iphone 3g, then I put my Mom's rogers sim card in and it worked perfectl

@yeeboii1521 From what I understand is, that maybe it hasn't been unlocked, or properly at that. Unlocking the iPhone is easy from what I hear, YouTube has a few videos on how to. Also with the new firmware out I don't think there has been a new jailbreak or unlocking firmware. Google search forums on the new ios4, and see if iPhones hace been unlocked.
