An outtake from the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences' 2008 inaugural edition of the Television Academy Honors. The Television Academy Honors recognizes television with a conscience, celebrating programs that motivate, educate, inspire and change lives.
The Television Academy Honors is not a new category of Primetime Emmy® Award; it continues to be separate and distinct from Emmys recognition of television excellence. The Honors celebrates achievements in programming that explore issues of concern to our society in a compelling, emotional and insightful way. Programming and programmers who enlighten and increase awareness of important social and health issues are honored.
The 2008 honorees were Alive Day Memories: Home from Iraq; Boston Legal; Girl, Positive; God's Warriors; Law & Order: SVU, "Harm" episode; Pictures of Hollis Woods; Planet Earth; Side Order of Life; Shame.
