How I boil 2 cups of water in a 40 oz Klean Kanteen using 15 ml (1/2 oz) of denatured alcohol. The Flat Cat II was modified for better efficiency and can boil 2 cups in about 8 minutes.

  • nice stove. i like the design. i may make this stove to use with a heiny pot. any suggestions?

  • @grich9860 For a Heineken pot, you may need to use a smaller diameter can. Also, with the indent on the bottom, the stand may need to be taller to get the right air gap. Best wishes,

    Jon

  • @grich9860 I couldn't help myself. I tested the stove "as is" with a Heineken pot. The stove took a little longer to reach a full "bloom". 2 cups of 70F water boiled using 15 ml S-L-X. Time to boil was 8:45 with flame out @ 10:10. I think that I would raise the center pot support by 1/4" to speed up the bloom time.

    Best withes,

    Jon
