  • is... is that a... gold.. flute... brb while i SDFKLGJSD;LKFHJGKL;

  • This is one of those instances when I put the CD in the CD player in my car and simply had to pull over to the side of the road when this music started to play. I was rivited and nearly had tears in my eyes. The moment I got home I ordered the sheet music. A truly inspiring performance of such sensitivity.

  • For me it sounds like the soundtrack of a good film. It's not a criticism, if I listen to the interpretation of other flutist it's possible that I quit it in 1 minute. When I listen to Galway's he keeps my attention in all the piece. Some criticise him for being easy-listening or something like that. For me, in the vast majority of the cases, he is so good that can make a classical piece easy to listen.

  • @airmage112 ya me to

  • sublime tout simplement... :')

  • ...from 3:20 on you have Galway at his best...the sound is absolutely sublime at 3:52 and on...this is the greatest flute player who has walked this planet...a gift from God...and may God bless him for what is now a lifetime of amazing music.

  • This video has inspired me to wanna play this for Solo and Ensemble contest!

  • That tone in the low register from 1:20 on is just ravishing! Someone commented that his tone is " bird-like". I think he heard the penny whistle as a child and that influenced his sound.

  • diminuendo on that high G. Played so sweetly. Many years of hard work by Mr Galway makes it possible for us to hear what long dead composers held in their imaginations. Fantastic sensitive support from the pianist.

  • listen to it with your eyes closed. A completely different experience! sooooo good
