PSLV-C8 is the eleventh flight of ISRO's Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) and its first commercial launch as well. In this flight, PSLV launches the 352 kg Italian astronomical satellite, AGILE, into a 550 km circular orbit, inclined at an angle of 2.5 deg to the equator. An Advanced Avionics Module (AAM), weighing 185 kg, to test advanced launch vehicle avionics systems like mission computers, navigation and telemetry systems, is also flown on PSLV-C8.

  • Good Video, but need more info. how much of it is indigenous (the satellite is italian) and where does our pslv technology stand with comparison to other countries.

    - thanx again, 4 d vid.

  • India is the fifth after the US, Russia, Ukraine and the European Space Agency (ESA) to have the capability of launching spacecraft of any kind into polar and geo-stationary orbits. We had american navigation system but not anymore we got indigenous VIKRAM micro processors for that now!! PSLV is (100%) indigenous!!

  • Italy paid 11 million dollars for their satellite to be launched. Indonesia and argentina satellites were also launched.Israel wanted to launch its spy satellite in 2005 with PSLV, but I am not sure whether it happened!!

  • aaila soldier!! nice video, but boss, whatever u wrote in the description, abey yaar, kuch samajh main nahi aaya, genius!! actually i'm an IT guy not a physisist!! LOL! anyways, nice video man!!

  • The first stage is one of the largest solid-fuel rocket boosters in the world and carries 138 tonnes of Hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene (HTPB) bound propellant.

  • You may be surprised, but it's actually solid fuel! The 1st and 3rd stages are fueled by solid propellant.

  • Its a prob of this vid. You can see the rest of the color on the right.

  • I wonder what type of fuel that is, the exhaust is a bright whiteish-blue
