A powerful and moving rendetion of some of the most profound and intelligent hip-hop songs released to date. Speaking truth to power and armed with the intellectual arsenal of great cultural luminaries who empower the masses. Show respect for those who demonstrate character and integrity for our youth and truly make us a smarter people. Thank you Snoop Dogg, Jay-Z and Nelly. You are giants among men.

  • Cmon.. quit the sarcastic bullshit.. nobody has said that the cause of popularity for these songs is because of its depth. These songs did what they're intended for and that's to entertain. The artist wasn't aiming for the "intellectual" audience with these songs. If that's either good or bad is for you to judge, but do not try to point out the lack of depth in a song that never intended to be viewed as deep in the first place.

  • You're right mballin0. It's outrageous that any smarmy stupid jerk would even DARE to poke fun at hip hop and rap music. It's all just fun, and anything that is fun and good natured must be OK and good for society. That's my point exactly. After all, your first comment was about the profound impact and meaning of hip-hop music, which only certain people can truly understand, but now I see that it's just about fun. So it's deep. But it's not. Either way, haters shut up. I now fully understand.

  • ...

Until then, go take your sorry "I hope people think I'm clever and deep" act back to suburbia where you'll never have to encounter the people who you mock.

  • mballin0, why do you think I'm mocking? These songs are clearly brilliant and represent the highest form of art. I mean, it's not only obvious to a brilliant mind like yours, but everyone who has encountered these profound lyrics and artists.

  • Yup, I'm pretty stupid Mr. SmellMeProper. Hopefully one day I'll learn how to spell as good as you and be as smart as you. I'll say it agen, you are pretty amazing.

  • I loved it mate well done! This is a point I've been trying to make for a while, and now you have done it well. Although, I might add, there is some very good hip hop which somehow I managed to discover in my complete ignorance of hip hop. Most of it, or even, all commercial hip hop, is complete wank.

  • Well you completley embarrassed yourself there m8

  • Whoa, Dogg! F to tha' fizzle, 'dat was PHAT! Straight ballin', ya'll jes' neva' unda'stand tha' depft uv da' rimes...

  • Damn man.

You are a fucking idiot and by the way you tried to mock hip hop, you're inability to even attempt to try to grasp any sense of what hip hop music is fully about in its entirety became truly obvious.

Once you live by the culture, recognize the people who build that culture, and acknowledge where they're coming from, then you can truly understand it.

    ...

  • I don't get it
