Cmon.. quit the sarcastic bullshit.. nobody has said that the cause of popularity for these songs is because of its depth. These songs did what they're intended for and that's to entertain. The artist wasn't aiming for the "intellectual" audience with these songs. If that's either good or bad is for you to judge, but do not try to point out the lack of depth in a song that never intended to be viewed as deep in the first place.
