"Where there are no strangers, only friends you haven't met," is how bartender Jon Mayer described Annapolis local favorite Davis' Pub. Jon's quote was exactly what Dan Hayes and I (Clay Broga) found on our weekend trip to Annapolis, Maryland. Often overshadowed by DC and Baltimore, Annapolis is the perfect small town to escape the city....even if its pouring rain, which it did during our visit. The pubs and restaurants were simply awesome. The food was hot, the drinks were cold, but what really set everything apart was the people. Whether pickin' crabs at Cantler's, saying the Pledge at Chick & Ruth's, or throwing back a few (or more) at Davis' Pub, you're sure to meet some hometown folks who have poured everything into their businesses. And it shows. We felt it, and hopefully you can too by checking out this 3-minute rundown of our encounters with the great people of Annapolis.

Big ups to our musical friends (in order of appearance): The Method, No Wonder and Rob Hodge, and Farm Vegas. URLs below...

Thanks to the following cool people:

Stef, for hosting
Dan, general manager of Cantler's
Jake, waiter at Cantler's
Tanya, waitress at Chick & Ruth's
Ted, owner of Chick & Ruth's
Liz and Christie, booth neighbors at Chick & Ruth's
Kiyomi, owner of Davis' Pub
Jon, bartender of Davis' Pub and Feasty boy
Tom, John and Matt, friends at Davis' pub
Ian and Brooke, for insider tips and recommendations

What sadly didn't make final cut: Trying to drink a 6-pound milkshake at Chick & Ruth's, Ted's other magic tricks, drinking Old Beer (beer with Old Bay in it) at Davis' Pub...
